Lately...

Lately there hasn't been much going on.  Since Christmas, we haven't been too busy doing anything.  Grace started preschool again finally and did excellent going back.

I have been sick for a week and a half with a sinus and ear infection and cold that won't go away despite the antibiotics.  We're on day 9 of a low grade fever for me.

Even though we haven't done anything majorly exciting or eventful, there are still a few fun moments I managed to catch on camera.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year 2013!

Last night for New Year's Eve we had a gift card to Famous Dave's so we went out for supper.  It was good and then we did a little shopping after.  Nothing too wild or exciting.  The kids went to bed a little later than usual and Dustin and I stayed up to watch the ball drop at 11:00 on the east coast.  That was enough for us!

2012 was a good year for us.  Nothing too major or exciting changed in our family.  No babies were born in our family and no new nieces or nephews either this year.  We have friends who have added new babies to their families and were excited to go visit some of them!  We were able to attend two weddings this past year, my good friend, Kristi's in March where I was honored to be a bridesmaid, and my cousin's wedding in September.  Grace took a dance class at the Y and had a recital and she also started preschool this year.  Kyler has become quite the little smarty pants and has become quite vocal and has grown into himself.  He is quite the clown and likes to make people laugh.  He is also a very, very, very physical little guy who loves to tackle and rough house.

Dustin's job has remained the same and mine as well.  While I could call this year "boring" I would rather say blessed.  We have had some good times with family and friends, getting to have a pool party in July just for fun!  While the entire year summed up was not overly "eventful" I am thankful it was not marked by heartache or hurts, losses or deaths.

I hope 2013 brings us much joy and love.  Even more so, I hope it brings us closer to Christ and His love for us.

And today, we were excited to have friends over to watch the Huskers play in their bowl game.  We were sad that the Huskers lost, but it was great to see the Morton family!  Benji turns one next week and we haven't seen him since he was a week old!  He's grown up a lot this last year and is such a sweet, cute little guy!  Here are the three kids today all sporting their Husker gear for the game!  Loved seeing you Robin, James, and Benji!!!!  So glad you were able to come by!

So 2012 is over.  But so glad we have another year to make memories in!

Pink eye...

On Saturday, December 29th, we were supposed to go to Omaha for my family's extended family Christmas with my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  But when we woke up that morning....Grace had pink eye!

She came in our bedroom at about 8am and said she had a lot of eye boogers.  I thought, "Uh, oh."  I looked at all the mat on her eyes and then she opened her left eye and it was definitely all pink!  Luckily, all we needed was a call to the doctor and they were able to prescribe the drops over the phone so we didn't have to actually go in and could just pick up the drops at the pharmacy!

While I picked up the eye drops, I exchanged one of Kyler's presents since he had doubles.  We got him this inflatable toy/ball pit and the kids LOVE IT!  Here they are being little weirdos sticking their faces through the holes.  Sad we missed the party but glad that's all Grace got for sickness.  And glad that thanks to her great hand washing and sanitizing skills that no one else got pink eye....this time!

Our Christmas

Christmas morning brought some presents from Santa and two happy kids!

After making the kids wait until breakfast was over, we got to the presents!

Love the sock monkey hats we got each of them!

I have tons and tons of pictures of them opening gifts, but just going to put up a picture of their presents they got, minus their Santa gift and their stocking stuffers.

It was pretty cute.  They did a good job taking turns but then at the end, Kyler kept saying, "My turn!" and started trying to open my present since he was out.  Loved seeing him this year learning how to do presents and how quickly he caught on to everything.  :)  We had a nice, relaxing day and got to play with so many fun new presents.

Brunssen Christmas

We traveled to Neola this year for my side's family Christmas the weekend before Christmas, 22nd/23rd.  We did family pictures before the fun began!

The kids love this huge dolphin at their house.  They were jumping and having so much fun on it!

I didn't get a picture with Lane on the dolphin so I caught him climbing on chairs instead. :)

Then, while we were opening presents, my camera died and never came back to life...:(  So I don't have much for pictures this year from this Christmas, but it was by far my favorite Christmas yet!  The kids had so much fun running around in all the space and playing with each other.  Kyler had so.much.fun with Brodie, getting to rough house and tackle with another boy!

We love Adam & Melissa's new house--there was so much room for all of us and each family even got their own bedroom!  The white elephant exchange was a blast, as usual, and the food was amazing!  Brodie and Grace had so much fun with their dream lights and getting to have a sleepover together!

We were totally exhausted by the time we got home but we had so much fun!

Green side Christmas

This year we celebrated Christmas with Dustin's family on Saturday, December 15th.  We made the trip up to Chambers this year.

Grace got the chance to decorate a cake for Jesus's birthday.  She kind of likes sprinkles...:)

And as usual, the kids were very spoiled with their gifts.  They both love their new hooded bath towels!

And we can't wait for the weather to get warmer so we can use their new wagon!

We even got to swim while staying at the hotel this year!  The kids had a fun time and were tired out from their first Christmas of the year!
