Grace's birthday party day {5 years old}

This year we celebrated Grace's 5th birthday on Saturday, May 18, 2013.

We started the morning off with a wake up surprise!

After she woke up a bit Grace thought it was pretty cool!  Kyler loved having all the balloons to play with!

And then in the afternoon we had her big birthday party!  This year Grace saw so many Chuck E. Cheese commercials that she insisted her party be there.  We obliged!

Grace holding up her age with her Sponge Bob cake that I made her.  He was definitely the hardest cake I have done yet!

Playing some games before food and presents.

And then Chuck E. came out!!!!  Grace loved the little dancing and fun things they did with her before the cake and presents time!

Singing Happy Birthday to her

Blowing out her candles...

 Grace loving Chuck E.!

And then she got to go in the ticket blaster.  She got the ticket for 1000 tickets!

After all this it was finally time for presents!

Grace had a great time and it was much better than we had expected.  The employees said it was really unusual how slow they were and there was only one other party going on at the same time.  We were definitely very lucky and had a great first experience at Chuck E. Cheese!

Preschool: The end

One more week of school and Grace is done with preschool!

Had you asked me back in September...or October...or even November if I ever thought this day would get here I wouldn't have been so sure.  Yes, Grace was still crying every day in preschool in November.  We finally got over the crying in December--just in time for a month break for Christmas vacation!

Luckily, the second semester was much better and I think Grace has even used the potty at school now.  Might not seem like a big deal but if you've been in our shoes it's a HUGE milestone for Grace.

Today they got to celebrate Grace's birthday at school.  She took cupcakes and a bendy straw as a favor for each of her classmates.

They also took the year end picture of her class.  I am going to write out the first names since I'm sure we will forget sooner rather than later, especially since none of her preschool classmates will be attending Malcolm with her.

Front row left to right: Elise, Everett, Kaylee, Grace, Nicholas, Gage, Simon, Jeremiah, Oliver

Teacher: Sueann Ahrens

Missing in the picture were Violet and Austin H.

Grace has had such a fun year and has made some good friends.  I think she has really started coming in to herself and definitely has learned some good socialization skills as well as how to write all of her numbers and a few words!

Pictures: 2013

Like every year we had our pictures done again.

This is our family picture for the year as well as Kyler's 2 year pictures and Grace's 5 year pictures.

Here are some of my favorites:

Brodie's Six!

We got to go to Brodie's 6th birthday party this year at Mahoney State Park.  The kids had SO MUCH FUN playing!

I apparently didn't get a picture of Brodie with his cake...:(

But I did get one of him with the cape we got him!

Happy birthday Brodie!

Easter (belated)

I am so behind!!!  Yeah, Easter was March 31st....:)

Here are the kids before church.

After church we had breakfast there and visited.  Then we hurried home so the kids could find their Easter baskets!

After just a minute or two looking at the baskets we hurried to Henderson to have Easter dinner and an egg hunt with the family!

The kids were excited to hunt!

And we got the kids to sit still after the hunt for a cute group picture!

Then we broke out the softball set and had some fun since the weather was absolutely gorgeous!

Grandpa then broke out the mower so the kids could have turns riding, which they all loved!

Dustin also was able to enjoy a nice bike ride on my mom's bike. :)

All in all it was a great day!
