Pumpkin Patch 2012

Last Sunday we went to Roca Berry Farms for the pumpkin patch!  The kids were so sick last year and we couldn't go, so we made sure to get there as soon as we could!

There was so much to do!  We were there for 3 1/2 hours and we didn't get everything in but were so tired when we left that we didn't really mind!

Lots of posing for pictures...

We decided to do the barrel ride.  The kids rode together in a barrel and we rode in the little trailer up front....

Until we got here....and we got stuck.
Stupid rain the night before...:)  We had to walk back.  Luckily we hadn't gone very far!

And of course a horse ride was necessary.

Love Kyler's face in this one!

And then the kids got stuck in a spider web!!!!

Here is the huge castle slide we had to try!

Grace made it!
 Then Kyler...
 Then me!

Next we had to do this fun slide.

Kids on top of the huge hay stacks!

And the jumping pillows.  Poor Kyler could not stay standing up!

So Daddy rescued him!

Love this one of the kids.

Playing in the little pumpkin house.

At this point Kyler stuck his head in by himself.  Guess we had done it a few times already...;)

Trying to pick up a big one!

Ready to go home with our pumpkins!

Lane's 1st birthday!

On Sunday we were able to go celebrate Lane's 1st birthday!

Adam and Melissa had put together a short movie for us to watch with video clips from every month of Lane's first year!

The kids all loved watching it! :)

After he opened some awesome presents we got to do the cake!

To no one's surprise, his first birthday cake was a John Deere tractor, which looked great!

And I think he enjoyed getting his birthday song sung to him...:)

Then Lane got to dig in to his cupcake!

He looked like he knew what to do right away and was enjoying it...

And done!  He looks pretty proud of himself!

It was a fun afternoon and we were so glad we could be there to help celebrate!

Kyler 18 Months

This big old stud is already 18 months old!  By a couple weeks now, but we just had his 18 month appointment today, so that's the reason for the blogging delay.....

That and I'm so crazy busy lately with the addition of preschool, teaching FCA and Good News Club at church, and a few other things on my plate this year that I didn't have last year.  Oh, and the transcription job and two children thing...:)

Anyway, this little stud just makes me smile.  How can you not look at this picture and not smile???

*Please excuse the blurriness.  It's from my phone and Kyler never stops moving...

Anyway, his stats were as follows:

Height:  33 inches--69th percentile
Weight:  29 pounds, 14 oz--97th percentile
Head:  19.5 inches--95th percentile

So yet again, short, squat, and a big head. :)  Still hoping for a little more height but I know you are just perfect the way you are.

The doctor was happy with all of your progress and we had to do the (stupid) assessment sheet asking what words you do and how you do responses and respond to commands, etcetera.  Drives me nuts because I know you are just fine, but like the doc said, it helps them to know you can hear well, see, and that there are no signs of autism.

I told the doctor that I know you can hear because you can hear a candy wrapper about a mile away. :)

And you love to eat.  Here you are chowing down on some dehydrated apples...

You actually love fruit and veggies more than anything.  Your favorite is probably strawberries, but you love cut up apples, skin and all, pears, peaches, nectarines, grapes, bananas, watermelon, etc.  You also love green beans and peas.  Typically all you'll eat in a meal is the fruit or veggie unless we force the rest on you.

You also really loved shaved turkey deli lunchmeat.  You can just sit and eat slices and slices of that stuff.  You also really like lettuce and carrots.  One would think you would be thinner since you eat like a rabbit. :)

You also LOVE dessert.  You get so excited and your face beams and you start babbling if you see a dessert coming your way.  You also found the joy of suckers.  I can't wait to see how you react in a couple weeks to the wonder of Halloween and all the free candy involved in that!

You also love phones.  I love this picture of you and your business going on there.  Such a technical savant at such a young age...

And you are such a busy little guy.  You love to be outside, running around, playing in the sandbox, swinging, climbing up the rock climbing wall, sliding, riding tricycles and bicycles, playing with the basketball, volleyball and football.  And you love wheeling this sand cart all around the yard.  You are such an athletic little guy and can already do somersaults all on your own!

And in the last month or two your speech has really taken off!  You talk a lot more now and say, of course, Mama and Dada, but you also love to say bye bye, night night, Mack, shoe, among other things.  You also love to tell me that a sheep says Baa and that three singing pigs say La, La, La from the Moo Baa Lalala book by Sandra Boynton.  You snort like an elephant and a rhinoceros.  And sometimes you just babble your own language but go on and on with a whole conversation.

Kyler, you are such a sweet little guy.  We love you so much!
