What happened! I thought you were going to stay my baby forever! Guess that's not going to happen.
You had your 6 month appointment at the doctor today. You had to get four shots! Poor baby! One was the flu shot and you have to go back in a month to get the booster. But, it's for your own good! You cried when it happened but only a minute or two and have been such a big boy since!
The doctor was actually a little concerned about you. Concerned isn't quite the word, but it's the only thing I can come up with right now. You just didn't grow as much as you have been lately. I think it's a great thing since you were growing so big so fast. I think you needed a break since you were doing so much so soon! Like I told them, I have no concerns as you are a happy, healthy little guy!
Here are your stats from the appointment:
Height: 26 1/2 inches--43rd percentile
Weight: 19 lbs 6 oz -- 81st percentile
Head: 17 3/4 inches--90th percentile
Sorry little man.....looks like you're getting your daddy's height. We had hoped you would get some height from my side but right now you are short and squat. We can blame that on daddy's genes. ;) But you still are the cutest little guy I think I have ever seen and you are just so perfect!
Here is some more information about you at 6 months:
--You are pretty much wearing only 12 month clothing now. Again, I think you are growing just fine!
--You are starting to sit up on your own. You can do the tripod (leaning forward and balancing while sitting up.
--You grab anything and everything! You always want to drink out of mommy's straw and find all of the toys all over the floor.
--Everything you grab goes directly in your mouth. This drives mommy nuts.
--You are a huge thumb sucker. This also drives mommy nuts, but you are so adorable when you do it!
--You love being on your tummy on the floor. You are starting to get in the crawl position a little. I can definitely wait for that!
--You always lift your legs and your head off the floor when laying on your back. You are going to have killer abs.
--You are a lot more vocal. You like to talk and make noise. You are a VERY loud cryer.
--You sleep in your crib and love to lay on your side with a blanket over you.
--You love it when I "eat" your side and armpit. Your laugh is such a beautiful sound!
--You are getting your first tooth! I think this is why you haven't been sleeping well the last few nights (I hope!).
--You ONLY want your mommy. You reach out and grab for me all the time when not being held by me. You don't freak out when others hold you usually but that is starting.
--You still love your sister uncontrollably and even smile and start kicking your legs when you see Grace's picture. You are also starting to love Mack. You like his soft ears and love riding on his back!
--You are my little daredevil. Being upside down is one of your favorite things ever!
--You are getting so much more adventurous in your jumperoo. Those little chubby legs are getting a workout!
--You love your rice cereal. We started veggies a few days ago. Your first was green beans and you HATED them. With every bite, a disgusted look came across your face. Then you would proceed to physically shudder from the taste. But, being the chunker you are, you ate it all! We tried carrots today. You liked them!
Kyler, I know I have said this time and again, but I cannot get over how much I love you. I never wanted a baby boy, but now if I had the chance, I would have 10 more boys! I never knew how sweet and precious they could be! I could seriously sit and look at your sweet, chubby little face for hours. Just last night I had to go look at you twice in your crib just because you are that sweet and beautiful. The way you crossed your little legs while you were sleeping was so sweet and precious and I could just not get enough of staring at you. I didn't expect to feel this way with my second child, but I think the feelings are just getting stronger and stronger each day!
And now a cute, funny little story to end with. You are a sweet boy, but boy are you a boy! Never mind the peeing in my face and pooping across the room. Boys are boys from birth. But the other day I think you did something that I found entirely too funny! I was changing your diaper and you let out a toot. This was a particularly foul smelling toot. I'm used to it, but I happened to glance at your face. All of a sudden you got an incredibly disgusted look on your face. I can't be sure, but I think you finally smelled your own toot and grossed yourself out! :)
