Zoo 2013

As per usual I am behind in blogging!

We took our annual Henry Doorly Zoo trip on June 1st this year.  We could not have had better weather for a change!  It was cool and misty the whole day with a few periods of some breakout rain.  It was rather refreshing and was the first time I didn't walk away feeling completely drained from the heat.

We usually get a family picture by the bronze gorillas but since Kyler was scared of them we did the waterfall instead.

The kids loved the giraffes like always.

Since it was so nice and cool out we did the long walk all the way around the zoo.  This is the first time in 7 or 8 years we've gone that far out so we got to see some rhinos.  I am sad that we no longer have any elephants at the zoo as the kids really wanted to see one. 

And it's not a zoo trip unless you feed the birds and peahens while having a snack!

We decided Grace was about the size of an orangutan...

And Kyler is more of a gibbon! (Don't mind him--he didn't want his picture taken)

We love the sting rays!

And while nervous at first while being in the tunnel Kyler decided he did enjoy watching the fish after all!

Grace was begging to get to see her jellyfish!

FINALLY got to see this guy!  He was not out the last two years we were here!

I wish every day could be so beautiful at the zoo!
