LOVE

I love these two. They are so funny when they are playing nicely together, which doesn't happen all that often. Usually one of them (usually Grace) steals a toy and the other one gets mad. But this is what it looks like when they are playing nice. :)

And we finished Kyler's toybox! Grace has one identical to this that we made her when she was about 9 months old. If you haven't seen it, it's a super bright, dark pink with her name in a scripty font in light pink on the front.

Here's Ky's....

Family Haircuts

We all needed a haircut so we just went across the street to Cost Cutters the other night.

This meant Kyler's first haircut!

I feel terrible that I forgot to take pictures though like I did for Grace's first haircut. :(

But here he is after!

He did great! He sat on Mommy's lap and was surprisingly calm and still.

This looks much better. Before you could comb his hair down all the way over his entire ear and cover his earlobe!

And Miss Grace got 3 inches off. I love how cute her hair is shorter like this. Her curls look better too!

Thug or beauty princess???

Grace wanted to glam up Monday. So here is her all decked out in some of her own bling. But I'm not quite sure why she looks like such a thug.......:)

And I love this picture. This is one of the 12 beautiful roses Dustin brought home for me for Valentines Day. Beautiful! And I love how my new camera can actually capture it up close!

He's a walker!

These pictures are from last Wednesday.

I can tell because Grace has her dance clothes on. :)

Look at him go!

:o)

He's actually doing much better and can walk across the room by himself now!

Fun in the.....SNOW!

So we got 12 inches of snow this weekend! And it was wet, heavy snow! Dustin and I spent an hour digging out our driveway and sidewalks but were able to get it all clean! Lots of the neighbor kids were out while we were doing this and Kyler was taking a nap, so Grace went across the street and played with the kids. It was really nice not having to watch her while we were trying to scoop. She had such a blast playing for an hour with those kids!

The next day we went out and built a little snowman. The wet, heavy snow turned very powdery the next day so we couldn't do as much as we wanted. But at least this snow that was sitting in the sun worked for a little one!

And yesterday and today Grace has wanted to go outside to play. With Dustin at work, it's very hard for me to take her and Kyler out, especially since Kyler really hates the snow. So I just bundled her up and let her play in the backyard by herself. She has loved it! She runs around with Mack and loves going down the slide. I was a little nervous about her climbing the rocks up the slide with boots on, but she does a great job! And she uses the slide more now than she ever has in the summer! Here are some action shots of her having some fun on the slide yesterday.

New Camera!!!!!!

So I have been wanting a nice, DSLR camera for a long time! Like, since Grace was born! I've always felt bad that I didn't have great pictures of my kids. Like, good quality. Sure, those grainy things work, but I wanted something a little higher quality!

After a LOT of research, I finally settled on a Canon Rebel! I really like it and am enjoying learning about it! Right now I'm mostly on the auto settings and am just using a kit lens, but even with that, it's unreal the difference! I plan on learning a little more about it and how to do more manual shooting later on with a higher quality lens, but for now, I'm definitely enjoying taking pictures!

There were two main things I wanted from a camera, other than just overall better quality pictures. The first is the ability to shoot something up close and not have it be all blurry. I wanted to be able to capture details up close. I know it's not an interesting subject, but here is an up close picture of Kyler's peas for lunch one day.... :)

And I have always LOVED photos where the main subject is clear with everything else blurred out. And I did it!

This is definitely a fun new toy and I'm sure I'll love getting to know more about photography!

What's up???

So the last few days have brought some little things I want to remember. They may be boring, but hey, it's my life and I love it (most days!). :)

First, we set up the Internet on our blu-ray player so Grace could watch You Tube music videos on the big screen. She loves it! So the next day after doing this, she tells us she wants to go downstairs so she can watch the "Blue Jay" do music. :)

Also, she has gotten the 12 Days of Christmas song down a little bit. Downtown on O street they had up Christmas decorations and they had lit up several items from that song, like a partridge in a pear tree, two turtle doves, and so on. Now every time she sees something like that or some geese by the side of the road, she says, "That looks like the five cocking birds!" She means calling birds, but hey, she tries! :)

Last night I cooked with fresh garlic for the first time. I freaking loved it! Can't wait to do it again. Don't know why I waited so long!

A few random thoughts I had throughout the day:

*Man, Kyler sure gets a lot of food stuck in his neck. After every meal you have to clean out the chub folds in his neck as you're sure to find at least one piece of food stuck in there!

*Wow, our toys are creepy! I walked into Kyler's room to put away some laundry and heard this weird, low moaning. It was the Leapfrog Tad whose batteries were near dead.

Today, when I was bringing up laundry from downstairs, Grace started yelling at me to hurry up. I freaked out since I thought something had happened to Kyler. No, she started yelling, "Mommy, hurry. It's Keith Urban on the radio!" She was right. He was singing on the radio and she knows how much I love him so she wanted to make sure I didn't miss it! :)

And today when talking to Grandma on the phone, she mentioned that we made daddy a chino this morning. She meant cappucino! :)

And today she named one of her baby dolls. This is a first for her as she hasn't taken much interest in her dolls and they usually are just named baby, doll, or Grace. Today she informed me that her baby's name was Fragile and that I was now a Grandma because she had her baby Fragile. She said baby Fragile came from her tummy and even nursed baby Fragile and burped her. While we were out and about doing errands, Grace said, "I sure hope baby Fragile is behaving at home." This is definitely a cute, new turn!

And these are the two cute little stinkers I got to play with today! Love how green Kyler's eyes are in this picture! Pardon any snot/boogers. He's fighting a cold.

And my performing little diva!

Happy Saturday!
